Rogue’s Dark Descent is a traditional roguelike set in a procedural world built to be explored rather than simply cleared.

Travel across wilderness, settlements, ruins, caves, and forgotten underground places while searching for equipment, artifacts, supplies, and pieces of the world’s history. Day turns to night, danger grows as you travel farther from safety, and each expedition develops its own story.

Combat is tactical and deliberate. Use weapons, magic, potions, equipment, and the environment to survive encounters with creatures above and below the surface. You may also meet people along the way—some simply trying to survive, others offering quests, information, or the chance to travel beside you.

The world has a history, but it is not handed to you all at once. Records, conversations, locations, artifacts, and conflicting accounts gradually reveal what happened here and what may still be waiting in the depths below.

Death is permanent. Saves exist to continue a living run, not to undo mistakes. When a character dies, that journey ends—and they are remembered.
