Before hiring a candidate, you can learn more about them, but additional information comes at a price. It’s up to you what you want to investigate: their experience, health, belongings, identity, or someone else’s secret. Some things will remain hidden, while an seemingly harmless detail may turn into a serious problem down the road. The choice is yours — just be prepared for the consequences.
Every new candidate is unique, randomly generated from a variety of appearance traits and characteristics. On rare occasions, you may also encounter hand-crafted candidates who can unlock special opportunities.

Send Rats on Missions and Conquer Territories

Every candidate has their own area of expertise, and it’s up to you to put their skills to good use. Send scouts to explore the area, dealers to move your merchandise, and bruisers to handle good old-fashioned extortion. Use your underlings to take over various locations and gain access to new districts. But it won’t be that easy: you’ll have to fight other interested parties for control of these territories.

As you take over new districts, new locations will become available for exploration. Visit interesting places yourself, meet the locals, complete their quests, and learn more about the strange place you’ve found yourself in.
