🔥 AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR PLAYERS!

First and foremost, our most sincere apologies.

We know it has been a long time without public updates. Indie game development is full of unexpected hurdles, and life demanded our attention. But the passion for this vision never faded. It is with immense joy, renewed energy, and beating drums that we announce: we are back in full force to finish and polish Capoeirogue into the definitive experience it deserves to be!

Our fire stayed alive because of you. We want to extend our heartfelt personal gratitude to every player who took the time to review our Early Access and believe in us:

• Príncipe dos Chartlatões: Your pride in Brazilian history touched our souls. The enemy pathfinding bugs have been squashed, and full native controller support (including Xbox) is now in place.

• HaaZ: Your day-one YouTube gameplay gave us tremendous momentum. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing our roda to the world!

• RoughMountain: Your feedback was pure gold! We built a full multi-chapter campaign with distinct stages, environmental mechanics, and epic captains that directly address your wishlist.

• victoriacioli: Learning that our game inspired your graduation thesis for your Capoeira cordel ranking was the greatest honor of our lives! The skill tree is expanding, Portuguese localization is comprehensive, and move commands are now readily accessible.

• BARBA BRANCA (THEO): We carefully rebalanced the enemy wave scaling to make combat fair, tight, and exhilarating, true to the best of indie roguelites!

• Nutzoze: You said "the music and beat go so HARD" — and we cranked the berimbau and drums up even more!

• rfNhA:"Zum zum zum zum!" We felt the authentic energy of the roda in your words and channeled it straight into the martial arts flow.

• syrianes: Your electrifying "OUI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" remains an eternal battle cry in our dev room!

We are moving steadily towards our 1.0 Full Release!

⚔️ FIGHT FOR FREEDOM: DANDARA OF PALMARES

Brazil, 17th Century. In the heart of the largest sanctuary of resistance in Latin America, rises Dandara: leader, hunter, warrior, and master of Capoeira.

In Capoeirogue: Dandara Cordão de Ouro, fight against relentless colonial forces across procedurally generated wilderness. Rescue captive brothers and sisters, escort them to safety, and harness ancestral deities to overcome insurmountable odds.

🌀 THE ART & RHYTHM OF CAPOEIRA

Capoeira is more than combat: it is rhythm, dance, acrobatics, and rebellion.

• Fluid Acrobatic Combat: Chain authentic capoeira maneuvers — sweeps (rasteiras), compass crescents (meia-lua de compasso), martelos, overhead kicks, and the rapid stick strikes of maculelê.

• Dynamic Skill Tree: Unlock and upgrade devastating kicks and agile evasions that reshape your fighting style every single run.

⚡ BLESSINGS OF THE ORISHAS (ORIXÁS)

You never fight alone. The divine forces of nature walk beside you:

• The Divine Pantheon: Channel the iron and fury of Ogum, the hurricane winds of Iansã, the healing and surging tidal waves of Yemanjá, the thundering justice of Xangô, the deadly hunter's aim of Oxóssi, and the open crossways of Exú.

• Orisha Manifestation (Ultimate State): Maximize your blessing with a deity to trigger a full divine transformation, obliterating entire hordes in a spectacle of raw power.

🏕️ RESCUE & REBUILD: DEEP METAPROGRESSION

• Every Life Counts: Locate and free captured slaves across the battlefield. Rescuing allies empowers Dandara during the run and brings vital strength back to the community.

• Quilombo Progression: Reinvest your rescued kin and cultural bonds into permanent upgrades at the Quilombo hub (health, axé energy regeneration, movement speed, damage, and rerolls).

• Epic Journey Across Chapters: Traverse dense jungle trails, treacherous mountain rivers, and the historic defense of Cerca dos Macacos.

🥁 GAME FEATURES

• Horde Survival Meets Action Roguelite: Fast-paced survivor gameplay combined with active positioning, skill-based rescues, and martial art combos.

• Local Split-Screen Co-op: Drop in with a friend at any time! Player 2 takes control of Zumbi dos Palmares.

• Soundtrack: Live berimbaus, atabaques, agogôs, and pandeiros pushing your pulse to the limit.

• Full Controller Support & Key Remapping: Seamless plug-and-play experience with gamepads or keyboard/mouse.

• Steam Achievements: Unlock badges of honor celebrating historical milestones and combat mastery.
