This is an art horror game where you snatch souls, cast spells, and die repeatedly. Select from 4 colorful characters and occasionally listen to them yap about their problems. It's very "mood." No penalty for death and you'll have fun even when you lose.

Coverage & Updates
Latest from the official channels and across the games media.

More Liminal Void Details
There is no penalty for death. Even if you suck at games, you can still enjoy 99% of the content including the colorful writing, trippy visuals, and banger soundtrack! If you're a "Gamer" gamer, this game will humble you! You should try beating it in Chaos Mode.
Liminal Void takes influences from Japanese horror, noise/breakcore electronica, punk, and even The Beatles to create an esoteric and visually stunning experience to remind you the joys of not knowing everything, free from the dependency of assurance and spoon-fed game mechanics. It is a game that is built from the ground up and comes at you with more hostility than other games. But that's okay, it will love you more than any other game ever could. You get A LOT of chances.
So what is it? A dungeon crawler where you progress through layers until you reach the void. Duh! You can traverse the layers through portals or dying, but you lose a lot of opportunity. No matter! Just like the American Education System, you still go to the next level, and just like the American Dream, there is always hope...or the next layer. Regardless, you WILL face the void gods and (surprise, surprise), they are hard to kill.
You will need “Sigils” to fight the Void Gods and enemies. They are the currency for your spells and portals to enter the next layer safely. Survival in each layer is determined by your “Death Counter” and your ability to prevent liminal entities from touching you. Dying will automatically send you to the next random layer at the cost of the opportunity to collect more Sigils.
Liminal Entities are dangerous and can kill you once they touch you. However, they contain souls that can be used to cast more spells. Snatch them and expand your arsenal of spells. Additionally, soul snatches add more time to your death counter so you can explore and find more sigils.
To avoid entities from killing you in the layer, you can either soul snatch them or destroy them. Spells are your primary tools of combat, with different types and advantages depending on enemy types. Additionally, more powerful spells cost more sigils.
Getting to Layer 444 can happen within the spectrum of two ways: do absolutely nothing, keep dying, and enter layer 444 with no sigils to get decimated by the Void Gods OR fight for your life and stockpile sigils so you will have enough ammo to spam spells onto the Void Gods. They have very high health, so be ready for a long fight.
Constant Updates and such until 2025. An active discord, and a super cool dev. Give them money! New scream fest character designs and expanded lore as the game updates. This is a very alive ephemeral gaming experience.
