Build in four dimensions

4D Builder lets you construct and physically manipulate four-dimensional shapes.

You don't need to understand four-dimensional geometry before you begin.  Early levels of 4D Builder start with more familiar 3D constructions before showing how they extend into four dimensions, folding squares into cubes before using those same tools to fold cube into tesseracts.

Solve spatial challenges

Work through challenges built around understanding and constructing 4D objects.

Some ask you to complete a particular shape.  Others make you reason about which cells connect, or to discern how things are folding four-dimensionally.  The levels are designed to gradually introduce you to new concepts and help you build more understanding of 4D shapes, not to leave you perplexed.

Build freely in the sandbox

The sandbox removes the puzzle constraints and gives you all the construction tools directly.

• Attach and delete 3D pieces

• Fold connected pieces around their shared faces

• Construct and rearrange nets

• Fold structures together into completed 4D forms

• Unfold shapes from the library and investigate their structure

• Save your constructions and return to them later

Build well known uniform polychora, experiment with alternative nets, or try finding your own shapes.

 Build, fold, solve and explore

Whether you're trying to understand a tesseract for the first time or experimenting with complicated polychora of your own, 4D Builder is designed to make four-dimensional geometry something you can build, move and play with.
