A Bite-Sized Classic Platforming Adventure

FOLDED is a physics based, high speed puzzle platforming game inspired by classic Adobe Flash/Animate cartoons and games, specifically ones from the Object Show Community, such as Battle for Dream Island and others. 

A Tear-riffic Story

This is The Paper. They're a Paperican citizen that needs to pay their taxes.

This is The Scissors. They're a jerk.

This is a problem. You need to fix this.

This is the goal. Beat up The Scissors for even DARING to do such a heinous action, and return home quickly so you can mail those tax returns!

How To Play

FOLDED is a platforming game with an emphasis on puzzle solving, time attack, and exploration.

Each of the 60 hand crafted stages requires you to complete a small platforming challenge in order to collect a shred of your precious tax returns at the very end.

As you play, you can find Doodles that will unlock special side content, but they're a bit tricky to collect.

Unlike most platformers, The Paper does not have power-ups. Instead, they are their own power-up. Turn into either a swan, airplane, ball, shuriken, boat, or fortune teller to complete stages, with each form having its own special mechanics and abilities.

How To Play (In A Cooler Way)

Aside from changing forms, FOLDED's main gimmick is maintaining speed and memorizing stages. 

By chaining forms together, you can maintain your speed for as long as you want, provided you don't hit a wall or something. Once you get good at this, gameplay will almost look acrobatic, and you'll look super cool in front of your friends.

Each stage keeps track of your time, your Doodles, the amount of times you changed forms, and the amount of times you died. While none of these matter for basic completion, if you want to look extra cool, make sure you find the Doodle, and keep your other scores as low as possible.

If You Don't Like That, Then Don't Do It

FOLDED is not meant to appeal to a specific crowd. Well, not gameplay-wise, anyway. In that regard, the game is meant to appeal to all players, young and old, experienced and inexperienced.

The game itself has technically 3 end goals:

• Complete all 60 stages, and watch the final cutscene.

• Complete the entire game and do everything possible, such as collecting every Doodle.

• Compete against your friends for low times and scores.

No matter if you are a speedrunner, a completionist, a person with an unbelievably huge ego, or just someone who doesn't play games all too often, FOLDED has something for everyone.

FOLDED contains:

• 60 quick stages split up into two 30-stage Stories, each with their own plotlines and gimmicks.

• A Library filled with developer commentary, concept art, and conversations, showing the game from concept to release.

• Fully animated cutscenes using the game's main assets and rigs, making each cutscene feel seamless.

• A complete original soundtrack, filled to the brim with chilled out tunes to file your taxes to.

• Many references to pop-culture and 2000-2010s media. We did a great jorb coming up with them.

• A way to break free.

• ... and probably, just maybe, a little more than that.
