EARLY ACCESS — CURRENT CONTENT & PLAYTIME

CALVAR is still in development. The full game is not yet playable. The current version includes the Prologue, Chapter 1, and the first part of Chapter 2, offering approximately 40–90 minutes of gameplay, depending on your pace and exploration.

The game will continue to grow throughout Early Access, with additional content updates expanding the playable areas and continuing the story. Your feedback helps us improve and shape the experience along the way.

CREATED BY A TWO-PERSON INDIE TEAM

Calvar is a passion project built by two people—and your feedback helps us improve it throughout Early Access. Found a bug, got stuck, or have a suggestion? Let us know through the Steam Community discussions, our Discord, or email. A description, screenshot, or short video helps us investigate. Thank you for helping us shape Calvar.

BEYOND THE GATE LIES ONLY MADNESS.

Leonard has left the asylum, but his past has followed him home. His wife, Tatjana, is missing. After stopping his medication, unsettling experiences begin to disturb his search—and his understanding of what is real.

Calvar – The Darkest Gate is a first-person psychological horror game focused on exploration, environmental puzzles, and disturbing encounters. Follow Tatjana’s traces and uncover the connection between Leonard’s past, the asylum, and the mystery of Calvar.

FOLLOW THE PATH INTO THE UNKNOWN

Follow secluded forest paths and investigate abandoned places as Leonard’s search draws him further from home. Discover documents, personal belongings, and hidden clues that reveal fragments of the story. Look carefully: the obvious path may not hold every answer.

EXPLORE WHAT WAS LEFT BEHIND

Search decaying rooms and interconnected corridors that still bear traces of their former occupants. Find items, unlock routes, and return to familiar places with new clues. Piece together what happened here through the details left behind.

FACE WHAT WAITS IN THE DARK

You are not alone. Disturbing creatures and scripted horror encounters turn quiet exploration into sudden danger. Listen for movement and keep your bearings as unsettling sounds and psychological effects draw you into Leonard’s disorientation.

PIECE TOGETHER THE MYSTERY

Examine unusual objects, find missing pieces, and connect clues to open the way forward. Environmental puzzles reward observation and investigation—a document you read earlier or a detail nearby may hold the answer you need.
