Sanctum: Whispers of Qingcheng is the third standalone title from Baiyujing Studio, and the latest entry in the "Next Stop" sandbox series. Built with Unreal Engine 5, it is an open-world single-player RPG featuring realistic graphics and a setting deeply rooted in Chinese mythology.

Setting the Scene

The balance of the world's primordial Qi has been disrupted, giving birth to the Five Malignancies. Following the unification by the Great Liang Dynasty, corruption festers in the hearts of men, and cults begin to rise. You are an ordinary mortal who awakens in a salt field, only to be swept into a torrential struggle between good and evil that will decide the fate of heaven and earth.

Feature Highlights

【A Dynamic Mythological World】

Experience a seamless open world where mythology bleeds into reality. Ascend to the Three Orthodox Schools—Sword Immortals soaring through the heavens, Confucians governing the state, and Buddhists walking the mortal realm. Or, delve into the Nine Unorthodox Arts of the underground, including divination, corpse refinement, ghost taming, Gu-raising, demon shapeshifting, mechanical arts, tomb raiding, formation laying, and talisman crafting.

【Realistic Physics & Celestial Phenomena】

The game introduces a robust physics engine: set fire to mountains, conduct electricity through water, or fell trees to build fortresses. A dynamic weather system is deeply integrated into gameplay, following the cycle of the 24 Solar Terms. A thunderstorm can be a destructive force, or it can strike a tree to create "Millennium Lightning Wood"—a rare material for crafting supreme treasures.

【Multi-Dimensional Freedom of Interaction】

Weave intricate Shu embroidery or hunt for rare delicacies. Combine mechanical arts to craft gliders and soar through the skies, or lay down complex trap formations. Powered by AI, every NPC possesses a unique identity and daily routine. Your interactions are limitless, allowing you to forge a path of cultivation that is entirely your own.

From the bustling markets to the grandest myths, this world is your legend to write.

Core Features

1. (Ascension) The Three Orthodox Schools

• Qingcheng Sword Immortal: Master the art of controlling swords with Qi, become one with your blade, and combine swordplay with the "Formation Laying" art to create exclusive Sword Arrays.

• Confucian Scholar: Pursue a path through the Imperial Exams (Politics) or Literary Gatherings (Jianghu). Deeply tied to the main storyline, Scholars cultivate the "Noble Spirit" (Haoran Zhengqi) specifically to suppress demons. This path integrates deeply with cultural heritage skills like Shu Embroidery, Su Brocade, Jianzhan pottery, and Lacquerwork. Imagine the clash: The elegance of "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" embroidery versus the ferocity of the "Immortal-Slaying Sword Array"!

• Buddhist Disciple: Focus on faith inheritance and the struggle for believers. Join forces with various factions to unlock exclusive gameplay: Faction Storylines, Divine Artifacts, Sect Management, Territory Conquest, Map Construction, and ultimate Faction Warfare.

2. (Supernatural) The Nine Unorthodox Arts

• Diviner: Cast horoscopes, read the stars, and manipulate celestial phenomena (solar terms, wind, thunder, etc.).

• Corpse Refiner: A blend of Maoshan Taoist traditions and Xiangxi secret arts. Master the cycle of "Corpse Preparation, Grave Seeking, Refining, and Tribulation."

• Ghost Tamer: Inherit the legacy of Yin-Yang Masters and engage in the mysterious revival of spirits.

• Gu Master: Sorcery from the ancient Five Immortals Sect and Five Poisons Sect, utilizing venomous creatures and hexes.

• Shapeshifter: Certain gifted cultivators can collect the bloodlines of ancient demons to transform into giant monsters for battle. (Note: This feature will be continuously updated via DLCs, as the combat mechanics for each transformation are as complex as designing a new boss.)

• Mechanist: Gifted cultivators can combine carpentry with ancient Mohist mechanics and Gongshu arts to create powerful "Divine Machinery." (This comprehensive system is scheduled for the first month's update post-launch.)

• Tomb Raider: Combine divination arts with Feng Shui to "Seek Dragons, Spot Lairs, and Raid Tombs" for treasures.

• Formation Master: Master the steps of the Big Dipper to lay down magical formations. Gifted cultivators can combine this with the Sword Immortal path to master the "Way of the Sword Array."

• Talisman Crafter: Combine Maoshan and Yin-Yang arts with cultural crafts like Lacquerwork, Papermaking, and Cinnabar refining to create "Heaven-Reaching Talismans" with unique effects.

3. (Mortal Realm) The Hundred Trades

• Common Professions: Artisan, Farmer, Carpenter, Fisherman, Official, Outlaw, Escort, and more.

• Intangible Cultural Heritage: Embroiderer (Shu/Su styles), Mohist disciple (Mechanics, Mortise and Tenon joinery), etc. (Launch version includes approximately 30+ related technical crafts.)

Every NPC has their own life, creating a unique, interactive world experience.

3. Physics:

• 24 Solar Terms: Time flows and seasons change, deeply affecting the environment and gameplay.

• True Physics: Includes real collision algorithms, inertia, and elemental interactions.

4. Sandbox:

• A seamless massive map offering sandbox adventure and exploration, featuring diverse storylines, multiple endings, and varied Character Build (BD) routes.

5. Factions:

• Exclusive faction storylines, divine abilities, and promotion systems.

• Simulation management, survival, and development.

• Territory occupation and world construction.

• Faction warfare and mounted combat (Mount & Blade style).
