What is Daisenryaku SSB 2: Modern Weapons War Simulation?

Command an immense arsenal of modern land, sea, and air units across hex-based battlefields in deep, turn-based warfare. Classic, accessible rules merge with 5 altitude tiers, resource management, terrain mechanics, granular unit specs, and on-the-fly Loadout Swaps to deliver rich, methodical strategy.

Game Basics

- Turn-Based Warfare at Your Own Pace

Engage in turn-based combat with up to 4 competing factions. Manufacture military assets and issue precision commands to every unit, including Move, Attack, and Capture. Secure strategic strongholds, push your front lines forward, and execute grand strategies to seize enemy capitals.

- Nation & Region-Specific Production Types

National arsenals from countries and regions such as Japan, the USA, and Russia are organized into "Production Types." The base game includes 9 distinct types, and Free Mode lets you assign any Production Type to any faction. DLC further expands your options, allowing you to custom-build your own bespoke Production Types by mixing and matching weapons across faction rosters.

3 Strategic Elements That Can Turn the Tide of Battle

- 5 Altitude Tiers

Battle spans 5 distinct operational domains: High Air, Low Air, Ground, Surface, and Subsurface. Weapon engagement envelopes and effective ranges vary dramatically by tier, making balanced force composition critical to countering enemy threats.

- War Funds, Fuel Reserves & Industrial Power

Mass unit production and field resupply depend on three core economic pillars: War Funds, Fuel Reserves, and Industrial Power. Prioritizing which vital infrastructure to capture—such as cities, oil refineries, and factories—will directly dictate your war effort.

- Terrain and Bases

Terrain dynamically alters unit mobility, defensive cover, and reconnaissance range. Mastering terrain features and base positioning allows you to orchestrate fatal supply line cuts and secure high-ground advance routes.

Diverse Battlefields and Over 300 Modern Weapons

- Battle Maps of Every Scale

Includes 58 Free Maps in Free Mode (as of Nov 26, 2026), ranging from isolated island skirmishes to massive, multi-faction theaters of war. Regular free updates introduce global Scenario Maps inspired by real-world geopolitics, challenging you to adapt your tactics across diverse environments, force matchups, and victory conditions.

- Over 300 Authentic Modern Units

Command an immense arsenal of over 300 realistic military assets, including main battle tanks, multirole fighters, attack helicopters, surface warships, and submarines. Tailor your army composition to dominate specific terrain and counter enemy threats.

- Granular Specs That Shape Tactics

Deep tactical modeling governs every unit, incorporating Fuel, Morale, Movement, Recon Range, and Altitude-Specific Defense values. Furthermore, individual armaments are defined by Range, Firepower, and Ammunition capacity, forcing tactical discipline with every shot.

- "Loadout Swaps" for Dynamic Mission Roles

Reconfigure select aircraft on the fly to meet evolving battle conditions. Swap weapon loads between Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground, Anti-Ship, and multirole strike configurations, allowing a single airframe to fulfill drastically different strategic missions.

Further Evolution in Season 2

- New Rule: "Tech Power"

Units are categorized across Tech Levels 1 through 3. As your faction's Tech Power rises, your manufacturing capabilities evolve in stages, creating a dynamic escalation from early-game conventional arms to modern frontline mainstays. Prefer immediate access to your full arsenal? Toggle Tech Power off to play with classic rules where all weapons are available for production from turn one.

- New High-Impact Hardware

Deploy game-changing additions, including Japan's next-generation F-3 fighter (modeled in-game with elite F-22-class performance), missile-armed Anti-Tank Infantry, and cost-effective Towed Howitzers for indirect fire support.

- Tailor the Challenge to Your Style

Select from 3 distinct difficulty tiers: Mock Battle, Real Combat, or Fierce Battle. Free Maps allow full customization of starting Industrial Power and Fuel Reserves, letting everyone from strategy newcomers to hardened wargame veterans fine-tune the economic balance to their preferred challenge level.

- Expanded Replay Value & Military Collectibles

Customize your favorite divisions with assignable Unit Insignia, track map completion with visual Clear Icons, and explore the Weapons Collection to inspect detailed stats and descriptions for unlocked hardware. Replay battlefields with new strategies and build your ultimate digital armory!
