Absolute Tenebra is a third-person survival horror game focused on exploration, puzzle-solving, chase sequences, and stealth.

The game is set in the decaying halls of the Wardheim Museum, a place where art, madness, and the supernatural have merged into a waking nightmare.

You play as Eleanor, a mysterious girl who awakens in the dark corridors of the deepest level of the Museum, with no memory of the place or of her own past. Explore your surroundings, manage your inventory, solve puzzles, and avoid horrific creatures as you search for a way to escape.

Absolute Tenebra is designed to be a challenging survival horror experience. The protagonist is extremely vulnerable, and the hostile environment is filled with dangers. Even the smallest mistake or moment of distraction could prove fatal.

GAME OVERVIEW

Absolute Tenebra includes:

• Interconnected Levels: Rooms and areas connected to each other, with multiple paths, secondary places and backtracking.

• Environmental Puzzles: Semi-procedurally generated puzzles that challenges your problem-solving and reasoning skills.

• Grid Inventory System: A grid-based inventory system that organizes the items you collect within a limited number of inventory slots. Each item occupies a specific number of grid cells based on its size and shape, requiring you to carefully manage the available space.

• Twisted Creatures: The game is populated by nightmarish creatures that haunt the halls of the Wardheim Museum. Not all of them are hostile, but many are extremely dangerous. It is often better to run away or hide from them when you can.

• Traps: Yes, you read that right! There are traps that can kill you instantly. Stay alert and watch your surroundings carefully. Danger does not always come from the creatures hunting you.

• Deep Lore: Story segments, notes, and items that reveal the Museum's history, the characters' backstories, and Eleanor's past. The game's story is not told through direct dialogue or in-game cutscenes, but is instead revealed through observation and exploration of the game environment.

MAIN FEATURES

Exploration

A key part of the gameplay is exploring the intricate environments that Eleanor finds herself wandering through. You will need to interact with objects and elements that block your path, find keys to unlock doors and drawers, and carefully search each room for useful notes and items. Look carefully around you because any details matters to help Eleanor to escape from Wardheim Museum.

The Inspection System allows you to closely examine the items you find to gather more clues or hints.

Light-Based Survival

Master artifacts like the Photoboros, a lantern capable of holding back the darkness. The lantern can reveal hidden paths and deter enemies, but its energy drains quickly, forcing you to choose when to illuminate your surroundings and when to move through the darkness.

Puzzle-Solving

Guess combinations to open secret doors, solve bizarre contraptions to restore elettric power, activate levers and uncover hidden trap doors. Some puzzle may require you to connect different elements using the items at your disposal. The solutions are not always obvious, and solving them may require patience and careful attention. Only those who take the time to observe and think critically will be able to overcome the challenges of the Museum.

Limited Inventory & Resource Management

Collect mysterious objects, keys, old notes, and essential resources to survive. Your inventory space is limited, forcing you to carefully decide what to keep and what to leave.Do not unnecessarily overload your inventory but be careful not to leave useful items behind. You may need them later and it can make the difference between survival and death.

Stealth-Driven Encounters

Unfortunately, you are not alone as you wander through the darkness, and fighting back is rarely an option. The monsters roaming the halls and corridors react to light and sound. You must avoid them, hide, or outsmart them to survive.

During chases, you will have to rely on quick reflexes to lose your pursuers or use elements of the environment to hide, hoping they won't find you.

A Cinematic, Art-Driven Horror Experience

A visual style inspired by 1920s surrealism, expressionism, and the unsettling visions of Lovecraft and Lynch. Absolute Tenebra creates a world where silence, composition, and contrast are part of the terror itself. Every frame is designed to feel like a painting, one that is still wet… and still breathing.

Nothing is what it seems. Every piece of the truth is scattered. It is up to you to put the pieces together and uncover the original picture.
