In most roguelites, power comes out of a chest. In FERAL PRINCE, it comes out of an enemy that is still moving.
Break its Soul Barrier, weaken it, and decide whether the battlefield is safe enough to extract a Soul Orb. Success leaves behind a weakened Husk intent on escape. The enemy you choose not to kill is the build you choose to make.

REVEAL EIGHT. LOCK FIVE.

At the end of the room, choose which extracted Orbs to forge into black-jade Soul Tiles. Each bears a rank, one of four suits, and an Engraving stolen from its source.
Reveal eight tiles from your bag and lock five for the next room. You get one partial redraw; once combat begins, the hand is sealed. No drawing, discarding, or build menu interrupts the fight.

YOUR HAND IS A FIGHTING STYLE

Your best five-tile poker hand grants a room-long combat effect and one charged Hand Skill. A Pair drills through one target twice. A Straight cuts a path through several enemies. A Flush calls forth the power of the Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, or Black Tortoise.
The four guardian beasts are the four regular suits. Rare Yellow Dragon variants bend their identity without turning the game into five-suit poker.

DOKKAEBI MASKS CHEAT THE RULES

Dokkaebi Masks are not ordinary stat gear. They can let four matching suits count as a Flush, make the lowest rank copy the highest, or cause the final scoring tile to echo again.
Arrange them freely between rooms. They trigger from left to right, so the same Masks in a different order can produce a different build.

THE HUSKS REMEMBER

Let a Husk escape and the run remembers what you took: the Soul Tile, the hand you were using, and the trick that made it work.
Later, that Husk returns as a Wraith carrying a distorted copy of your stolen power and an answer to your old build. Win the rematch and earn one guaranteed reward tied to what you stole: an upgrade for that tile, a cleansed curse, or a rare Knot.

Power × Resonance lets a carefully built hand erupt into spectacular numbers. But raw score becomes a bounded Combat Grade instead of unchecked damage.
You still move, attack, dodge, counter, and extract by hand. A great build changes how you fight; it never fights in your place.

EVERY KING HAS A TABOO

Each boss announces one King's Taboo before the battle. The first Engraving may fall silent, your Masks may trigger in reverse, or a redraw may demand a price.
The rule is shown early enough to reorder your build or seek an answer on the road. It makes the fight harder, never impossible—and sharp action can still carry you through.

FIVE REGIONS. ABOUT 24 MINUTES.

Cross five continuous regions of a Joseon painted in folk-art ink, from grave-choked forest to drowned capital and the source beyond. Each region leans toward one guardian suit without locking you into it.
A full run is built around roughly 24 minutes of fights, elite hunts, Wraith ambushes, markets, strange encounters, shrines, and bosses.
