Eternal Rift Defense is a 3D tower defense RPG where you fight alongside the defenses you build—and play powerful cards as the battle unfolds.
Shape enemy paths with walls, construct towers throughout your maze, and unleash your hero’s abilities to hold the line. Build your deck, collect rare cards, and trade with other players to prepare for the next challenge.
Battle through 50 rifts solo or in parties of up to four players. Level towers from the battlefield, hunt powerful gear sets, and combine heroes, talents, companions, and cards into your own approach to defense.
Every wave tests the maze you built, the hero you’ve become, and the cards you choose to play.

Walls are part of your build.

Create winding paths, force enemies over traps, and funnel them into kill zones. Decide where each tower will have the greatest impact. Towers built on your walls cost less, tying the shape of your maze directly to the strength of your defense.
Build with twelve different defenses covering damage, control, economy, and support:

• Arrow: Reliable damage against ground and air.

• Cannon: Devastating splash damage at close range.

• Wizard: Specializes in destroying airborne enemies.

• Coin: Powerful single-target true damage.

• Ice: Slows advancing enemies.

• Tesla: Stuns enemies before they can break through.

• Poison: Delivers powerful critical strikes.

• Fire: Scales into devastating area damage.

• Support: Strengthens nearby towers.

• Research: Generates technology for your defense.

• Mine: Generates gold to fund construction.

• Wall: Controls where the enemy is allowed to go.

Your next move could be in your hand.

Bring a custom deck into the rift and draw cards as the waves advance. Spend mana to deploy towers, lay traps, unleash spells, and strengthen your defense while the battle continues around you.
Freeze enemies inside a kill zone. Send chain lightning through an advancing wave. Promote a tower when you need more firepower, or restore portal lives when your defense starts to buckle.
Spend gold to Infuse eligible spells, increasing their power when an ordinary cast won’t be enough. That same gold could fund your next tower, so make every investment count.
Play the answer you have now, or save it for the wave you know is coming.

Every rift is another chance to grow your collection.

Find cards as you fight, hunt powerful Legendary cards, and discover rare Radiant variants with golden frames and animated artwork.
Build custom decks around your favorite towers, your hero, and the challenges ahead. Combine spells, traps, resources, and tower cards to support the way you want to play.
Trade cards with other players to fill gaps in your collection. Use Rift Dust to craft the cards you’re chasing, and experiment with new combinations between battles.
The card you find today could change how you defend tomorrow.

Your hero belongs on the battlefield.

Choose from four heroes, each with different stats and two unique abilities:

• Knight: A durable frontline defender who can slow every enemy on the battlefield and salvage valuable resources.

• Archer: A fast-moving damage specialist who marks enemies and areas to dramatically increase the damage they take.

• Engineer: Reshapes the defense by creating walls and swapping the positions of towers in the middle of a wave.

• Mage: Teleports across the battlefield and channels experience into towers that need an immediate power boost.

Towers level up during each rift, and one of the fastest ways to strengthen them is to stand on them. Your hero and equipped companion pour experience into the tower beneath you while the battle continues around you.
Stay on your strongest tower to push its power higher, or move across the maze to reinforce a struggling lane.
Complete your hero’s gear set and your abilities evolve into stronger versions with new effects.

Hold the line together.

Every rift supports solo play or cooperative parties of up to four players.
Split responsibilities across the battlefield, specialize your heroes and decks, and build defenses that support each other. Reinforce collapsing lanes and combine abilities when the waves become overwhelming.
One player’s spell can buy the time another needs to finish a tower. A carefully timed ability can keep an entire defense standing.

Know your enemy. Hunt your next upgrade.

Every enemy type has its own gear set to collect. If you’re missing a piece, you know exactly which enemy to hunt.
Equipment drops across increasing rarity tiers and continues growing after you find it. Level your gear to unlock additional affixes and turn an early discovery into something far more powerful.
Feeling lucky? Spend a Cursed Shard to force an additional affix onto an item. The result may not be what you expected.
Complete matching sets to unlock persistent bonuses, stronger hero abilities, and increasingly powerful visual auras that show other players how far you’ve progressed.

Build the defender you want to become.

Three talent trees—Support, Specialist, and Resource—let you shape your approach.
Invest in your economy to build cheaper walls, earn more from waves, and increase the value of the gold you collect.
Focus on combat to make projectiles pierce enemies, spread fire farther, strengthen ice effects, and increase your towers’ damage.
Deeper talents unlock new towers and tactics, giving you more ways to combine your hero, defenses, and deck.

Fifty rifts stand between you and Vaelgrym’s invasion.

Fight across 25 battlefields, each with two challenges. Begin on open farmland defending a single portal, then push toward burning ruins where four portals demand your attention at once.
Defend vine-covered jungle temples, desert strongholds, frozen mountain passes, and kingdoms consumed by fire.
More than twenty enemy types pour through the portals, from goblins, skeletons, orcs, and bears to liches, minotaurs, gyrocopters, and catapults.
Adapt your maze, towers, and cards before they find the weakness in your defense.

There’s always another wave.

Daily and Weekly Rifts bring new hazards to endless survival challenges.
Push as far as your build can take you, climb the leaderboards, and earn rewards beyond those found in the campaign.

Take your defense into the Arena.

Seasonal Arena turns tower defense into a ranked 1v1 battle.
Build your own maze while playing summon cards to send enemies into your opponent’s rift. Spend gold to Infuse your summons and increase the pressure while keeping enough resources to survive what they send back.
Commit to an attack when their defense looks vulnerable, or strengthen your towers before their next push arrives.
Break their castle before they break yours.
Complete your placement matches and climb through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond across seasonal ladders.
Bring the character you’ve built, the equipment you’ve earned, and a deck ready to put them to the test.

Meet the defenders fighting beside you.

Between battles, return to a persistent shared overworld populated by other players.
Trade cards, form parties, join guilds, and talk in world chat. Visit vendors, accept quests, and refine your deck before entering the next rift.
Link Discord to communicate with your party through integrated voice chat, without setting up a separate voice channel.
Find the card your build is missing—or the teammates who can help you push farther.

Put everything on the line in Hardcore.

Create a Hardcore multiplayer character and every rift carries a permanent risk.
Your hero gets one life per rift. Lose a portal level and that character disappears from the online world, taking their multiplayer progression, leaderboard position, and guild membership with them.
Survive every rift and your hero emerges Cooked: permanently empowered, visibly marked, and eligible to enter the Arena.
Every victory brings you closer. One defeat ends the journey.

Power comes from playing.

The in-game store sells cosmetics, including card backs that give your deck its own identity.
Store purchases never make your towers stronger, improve your gear rolls, or increase your combat power.

The war reaches beyond the campaign.

Join forces in 10-player raids against massive superboss encounters, including a battle to bring down a dragon.
Bring your strongest builds and face enemies that demand a whole group of defenders.

The moon bled.

Then the Cinder King came down from the mountains.
Vaelgrym’s flames consumed the forests, then the kingdoms, then the city itself. When there was nothing left standing to burn, he tore open rifts between worlds and called his legions through them.
The rifts are still open.
The moon is still bleeding.
And the defenders willing to enter them are all that stand in his way.

Prefer to defend alone?

Single-player characters can play the entire game locally.
