Historian Henri Bernard has spent his life obsessed with La Valériane, a legendary gentlewoman thief who taunted her victims by leaving a pouch of valerian at every crime scene. Buried under decades of ice, the train holds its secrets close. But as Henri steps into the frozen carriages, he discovers he is not alone. The dead are still here, preserved in time, and they hold the key to the truth he has pursued his entire life.
