Over 200 traits decide how they work

Every artisan has more than a set of stats. They have their own traits, specialties, likes, and dislikes. Instead of directing every movement, you decide which jobs each person is allowed to take — and they choose when to gather, process, forge, or rest on their own. Who should handle each stage? Your assignments shape the flow of the workshop and the swords that come out of it.

More than 200 traits shape not only how fast and how well they work, but who likes and dislikes whom. Everyday interactions make emotions rise and fall, and those moods show in the work and in the blades that come out of it. Emotion icons over their heads let you watch these small relationships shift.

Materials and artisans make every sword different

Gather, process, forge. Collect timber, ore, and gems, refine them into usable materials, and combine them into a blade. The materials used, the artisans involved, their moods, and how well the work goes shape how each sword splits between edge, durability, and enchantment, and how fine it turns out. When real skill and a stroke of luck come together, you may forge a masterpiece you never planned for.

A newly forged blade hides its true nature. Appraisal gradually uncovers its grade, type, stat distribution, quality, and evaluation.

Your workshop is one small part of the world

Beyond your walls lie eight towns, the monster dens beside them, and three nations at war. Markets, war, and monsters move every day, whether or not you are watching. Caravans carry materials down the roads; when a den grows restless the loads thin out, and when fighting cuts a road no caravan comes at all. Even in the same town, what is on offer today is not what was there yesterday.

And the only thing that moves that world is, again, the sword you forged. Every den your adventurers clear thins out the monsters and brings trade back to the town beside it. Blades delivered to a nation's commission become its equipment, push the front line, and can change which nation rules a town. Swear to a nation and your taxes and prices shift with it; stay unaligned and you can keep your distance. Whatever happens is written into your workshop's chronicle, with the date.

Weigh income against wages, hire new artisans, unlock the workshop expansion tree, and widen what you can do. There is no game over and no timer. Reach out into the world from your corner of the screen.

The sword you hand over decides whether they live

Appraised swords go to the adventurers who visit your workshop. They are not your employees — you cannot train them, command them, or bring them home. The only thing you have any say in is the blade in their hands.

Every destination asks for a different shape of sword. A blade that answers what the road demands carries its bearer through to the end and comes back as a log full of coin and renown.

Send someone out with a blade that isn't good enough, and they never return to the workshop. Their rank, their record, and the reputation you built through them are gone with them. No one tells you what went wrong. You read the log and decide what to forge next.
