Cross a procedurally generated wasteland, salvage the remains of civilization, breed unusual flora, and construct the machinery that restoration requires. Every reclaimed tile becomes part of a garden shaped by your decisions.
Cultivate Strange Life
Every plant is an individual. Its species establishes a basic niche, while inheritable genetics shape its growth, resilience, behavior, and environmental responses.
Study each specimen through detailed diagnostic dossiers. Cross lineages, splice useful traits, prepare the soil, and observe how plants respond to weather and local conditions. Heat, moisture, radiation, wind, and electromagnetic charge can damage a specimen, encourage its growth, or reveal a capability hidden in its lineage.
Roots draw elemental matter from the soil and leave their own influence behind. Over time, established plants can improve dead ground and help living terrain spread. A successful garden depends on the relationships between its plants, soil, climate, and surrounding infrastructure.
Build a Working Habitat
Ruined cities and industrial sites provide debris, intact components, and forgotten schematics. Break recovered objects into useful materials and elemental essences, then process those resources into new tools, structures, and soil amendments.
Construct greenhouse walls, doors, lights, cisterns, condensers, misting systems, pipes, cables, workhouses, and specialized instruments. Enclosed rooms develop distinct temperatures and humidity levels. Lighting changes cultivation conditions. Temperature, humidity, radiation, wind, and electromagnetic activity vary across the terrain. Sensor upgrades reveal these invisible fields and help identify safe routes, hidden organisms, buried caches, and unusual environmental conditions.
Each creature and anomaly follows its own instincts. Learn what they fear, pursue, consume, or ignore. Thrown objects can frighten, distract, feed, repel, injure, or provoke them depending on the material and the target. Observation often saves more resources than confrontation.
Maintain the Machine
Your chassis consumes power and suffers under extreme conditions. Heat, cold, radiation, physical damage, and long expeditions gradually take their toll.
Service worn parts with carefully measured elemental mixtures. Install modules that extend your senses, improve fieldwork, alter environmental tolerances, or support specialized cultivation strategies. The equipment you carry shapes which regions you can explore and which problems you can solve.
Progress grows from knowledge, infrastructure, recovered schematics, cultivated materials, and a chassis prepared for the work ahead.
