Earth's magnetic field failed a long time ago. The solar wind has been peeling the atmosphere away ever since, and the water went with it, boiled off into space. What's left is a world of exposed seabeds, salt basins and mountain ranges that used to be coastline.

You have a ship, and nowhere to be.
