The Kingdom's Merchant

Build an empire through trade, not conquest.

The Kingdom's Merchant is a deep medieval trading and economic simulation where your greatest weapon is good business. Starting with little more than a single caravan and a handful of coins, you'll travel a living kingdom, discovering settlements, buying and selling goods, expanding your business, and building a merchant empire that spans the realm.

Whether you choose to build your fortune alone or compete against rival merchants in multiplayer, every decision can shape the economy of the kingdom.

Every settlement has its own economy, opportunities, and challenges. Grain may be plentiful in one village while nearby cities desperately need food. A war on the frontier can send weapon prices soaring. A bountiful harvest may flood markets with cheap produce, while a harsh winter can leave entire regions struggling to survive. Successful merchants learn to adapt, invest wisely, and stay one step ahead of an ever-changing marketplace.

Purchase shops and warehouses throughout the kingdom, hire trusted staff to manage your growing enterprise, establish profitable trade routes, and expand from a lone trader into one of the wealthiest merchants the realm has ever known. But wealth alone isn't enough—your reputation with the Merchant's Guild, local nobles, and even the King may determine your ultimate fate.

The road to fortune is rarely safe. Bandits, storms, political unrest, failed harvests, rumors, and unexpected opportunities ensure that no two campaigns unfold exactly alike.

Will you become the kingdom's greatest merchant... or be outmaneuvered by your rivals?

A Living Kingdom

The Kingdom's Merchant is built around a dynamic world where economies evolve naturally over time. Markets react to supply and demand, settlements prosper or decline, and world events reshape trading opportunities across the realm.

Information itself becomes a valuable commodity. Travelers spread rumors that may or may not be true, merchants share news of profitable markets, and official announcements from the kingdom can arrive long after events have already changed the landscape. Success belongs to merchants who can separate opportunity from speculation.

No two kingdoms—or the stories they create—will ever be exactly the same.

Compete for Commercial Dominance

The road to becoming the kingdom's greatest merchant doesn't have to be walked alone.

Challenge friends or other players in competitive multiplayer, where every merchant begins with the same opportunity—but only one can become the wealthiest and most influential trader in the realm.

Compete for valuable trade routes, purchase the most desirable properties before your rivals, corner regional markets, react to changing prices faster than the competition, and build an economic empire capable of outperforming every other merchant house.

The world continues to evolve for everyone. Wars, famines, festivals, disasters, and political events affect every player, forcing each merchant to adapt their strategy in real time.

There are no military victories—only commercial ones.

Build Your Merchant Empire

Every successful merchant starts somewhere.

Begin with a single caravan and a modest amount of capital. Explore the kingdom, discover new settlements, invest in shops and warehouses, hire employees, and gradually transform your humble business into a kingdom-wide trading network.

Expand carefully by purchasing additional caravans, assigning managers to oversee distant operations, protecting valuable cargo with hired guards, and automating profitable trade routes while you pursue new opportunities elsewhere.

Whether you choose to dominate local markets or establish a trading empire spanning the entire kingdom, every business decision shapes your growing legacy.

A World That Reacts to You

The economy is never static.

Wars increase demand for military supplies.

Poor harvests drive up food prices.

Festivals create temporary booms in luxury goods.

Bandit activity can make once-profitable trade routes dangerous.

Natural disasters reshape regional markets.

Political decisions influence commerce.

Your choices matter as well. Aid starving communities and earn the respect of the people—or exploit shortages for enormous profits while risking the anger of powerful allies. Every opportunity comes with its own rewards and consequences.

In multiplayer, these same events create opportunities—and challenges—for every competing merchant, making timing, planning, and adaptability just as valuable as wealth.
