INKTRICK is a roguelike card game made of cards, ink and stamps.

Grab the cards, the ink pad and a glass of ink: the table is set! You play trick after trick against Fibus, the cheeky hand at the other end of the table. She deals, she shows you everything, she cheers you on at the top of her voice … and then she snatches the last trick right out from under your nose.

You learn the rules in a minute: follow suit, take the trick, collect ink. But the cards are only the beginning. One imprint, and the weakest card at the table beats the strongest.

Stamp it, don't hope

Many kinds of stamp, three tiers each, and every one of them turns a different screw. One makes your 8 the trump suit. One crowns the trick that really counts. One tips the whole rank order over until the aces across the table are worth nothing at all.

Best of all: they stack. Three imprints on one card, and the hand you almost threw away becomes the strongest fist at the table — if you think two moves ahead.

Beat a boss, change the rules

Every boss you beat lets you pick a TWIST: a new rule that stays on the table for the rest of the run. Sometimes a gift, sometimes an outrage. "When you swap, draw two cards and keep one." – "Each card can carry only one stamp."

One twist reaches into everything else. Two of them tangle. After four bosses you are playing a game with nothing in common with yesterday's.

And between games your hand grows: upgrade your stamps, tear open a pack, see three cards, keep one — maybe THE NIGHT-BLUE ACE, which is always trump. Your collection grows with every run.

Five stages. No way back.

Twelve games to the summit of a stage, and the difficulty tightens with every win. Five stages are waiting; each one opens only once you have cleared the one before.

One defeat ends the run. Immediately. And the next one starts just as fast: different cards, different stamps, a different plan.

Four of those twelve games are boss fights. Every boss brings its own special rule to the table — and plays by it while taking the trick off you.
