The world broke a long time ago, and it kept going anyway. So will you.

Epoch Forge is a 2D sandbox where the systems don't take turns. They run at once, in one world, and lean on each other. Start with a pick and a patch of dirt. End up — if you want — running settlements, wiring machines, bargaining with gods, and flying a ship you bolted together yourself. Or don't. Nothing is waiting for you to finish.

Talk to anyone, about anything

Conversations are held, not chosen from a list. A language model runs on your own machine and answers as that person, grounded in what has actually happened in your world — what you did, who saw, and what it cost them. They have jobs, they remember what you did, and word travels.

One world, all of it at once

Build ships and fly them. Hulls with real frames and mounts, bolted together a plate at a time. Nothing about the shape is chosen for you.

A living economy. Settlements produce, run short, and issue contracts. Caravans carry the surplus between them with real coin in the purse. What you pay depends on who you are to that trader.

Towns that grow up, not just out. A building declares what it can become, and the town decides when. Outgrow the tavern and the tavern adds a floor — not a second tavern beside it.

Real circuitry. Logic you can build computers out of. Not a minigame. Wires, switches, machines, consequences.

Ground that warns you. Dig out the wrong support and the ceiling tells you before it goes — creaking, shedding dust, giving you the seconds it takes to shore it. Get there in time and it holds.

Five gods who answer. Every prayer is answered through their domains, never in words. Devotion, hubris and standing all matter, and favour has consequences you meet later.

Farms with animals on them. Livestock wander real pens, fields are tilled and planted by the people whose job that is, and the barn exists because the animals needed one.

Enchanting with teeth. An altar with no meter. Settled workings enchant; unsettled ones leave blemishes, quirks and warps you will live with.

Disasters. Meteors fall, earthquakes shatter the ground beneath you, storms burn villages to ruin. What they hit stays hit — and a village that loses its woods gathers less from then on.

Harmonics. A card game the city actually plays, on five frequencies arranged in a wheel. Commit to an anchor and it doubles — and the two frequencies it clashes with go silent. People will beat you at it.

Three ways to play, and they are not damage sliders

Difficulty changes what information exists.

Casual. The world explains itself. Full item knowledge, an encyclopedia freely offered, forgiveness when you change your mind.

Intermediate. Knowledge is earned by use. Refuse the encyclopedia and it survives only in the deep places.

Complex. The game records what you have encountered, not what things are. Refuse the Record here and it never asks twice. You chose this. It remembers.

No ending

There is no win screen and there never will be. Payoffs are permanent changes to a world that keeps running — the storyteller reacts to your deeds forever, not until the credits.

Built to be modded

Content lives in data the game scans, not in code. Add items, blocks, recipes, growable buildings, even encyclopedia pages, without touching a shipped file.
