Build Your Own Cinema Empire

Start with a single cinema and turn it into a growing entertainment business.

In Cinema Tycoon, you manage everything behind the scenes — from choosing movies and setting showtimes to hiring staff, running the food court, advertising your cinema, and competing with rival companies.

Choose What to Show

Build your movie library by purchasing licenses for different films.

Keep an eye on genre trends, popularity, ratings, and audience interest when deciding what deserves a place on your screens. Movies won't stay popular forever, so changing your lineup is an important part of keeping visitors interested.

Manage Screenings and Showtimes

Set up your screening rooms and decide when each movie should play.

Plan your schedule around available seats, customer demand, and your current movie selection. A good schedule can keep your rooms busy throughout the day and bring in more ticket revenue.

Run the Food Court

Tickets aren't your only source of income.

Stock food and drinks for your visitors and make sure you have enough supplies to handle busy days. Popcorn, drinks, candy, pizza, nachos and other snacks can become an important part of your cinema's earnings.

Hire and Train Your Staff

Build a team to keep the cinema running.

Hire managers, projectionists, cashiers, food workers and other employees. Train your staff to improve their abilities and organize schedules so you have the right people working when you need them.

Wages and training cost money, so expanding your team too quickly can become expensive.

Promote Your Cinema

Spend part of your budget on marketing to attract more visitors.

Choose between billboards, radio, social media, influencers, email campaigns and larger promotional events. You can even host a movie premiere to give your cinema a major boost.

Different campaigns have different costs and results, so decide how much you're willing to spend to increase your popularity.

Compete With Rival Cinemas

You're not the only cinema company trying to dominate the market.

Follow competing studios, compare box office results and watch the market leaderboard. Your choice of movies, marketing and upgrades can change your position against the competition.

Expand Your Business

As your reputation and finances improve, you can acquire additional cinemas and grow beyond your starting location.

More cinemas mean more screening rooms, more customers and more income — but also a much larger business to manage.

Build your reputation, increase your market share and work toward major goals such as hosting a movie premiere, owning multiple cinemas and winning Cinema of the Year.

Pick the movies, fill the seats, beat the competition and build your cinema empire.
