PUCKVPUCK is a fast 2D arcade sports game for up to 8 players, local or online. You play as a puck: you boost across the arena, you slam into people, and you charge up shots. Three game types — SOCCER, DODGEBALL and SHOOTER — with more on the way.

SOCCER

Boost across the arena, slam into whoever is in your way, and hold to charge a shot that actually hurts. Eight arenas that change the game rather than just the scenery: a donut with a hole through the middle, a pinball table full of bumpers, a wormhole pitch, and an S-shaped one where the goal is not where you expect it.

DODGEBALL

No goals here. Knock the other team out with thrown balls, and remember that every throw explodes three seconds after it leaves your hand. Catch a throw cleanly and the ball powers up: green, then yellow, then BLACK. Each tier flies faster and hits harder, and BLACK cannot be caught or blocked at all. Five arenas, including rotating stages and portals that swallow balls and players alike.

SHOOTER

Weapons instead of a ball. Twelve guns sit on pads that keep moving around the arena, the pistol is the floor you always have, and recoil is movement: a shotgun blast is a dash backwards, a railgun shot a kick. Every kill in one life climbs your streak — three earns an AIRSTRIKE, five a MISSILE you steer yourself, seven a GUNSHIP that makes half the arena illegal for ten seconds — and six more rewards are waiting to be unlocked. Four arenas, plus three ways to twist it: KING (hold the crown, score the seconds), INFECTION (one stab and you turn) and SOCCER WITH GUNS (the ball only moves when it is shot).

SOLO, ON THE COUCH, OR ONLINE

All three play the same either way. Play solo against bots at a difficulty you choose, fill a couch with up to 8 players on controllers, or send your friends a code and play online. Bots also take any empty seat in a team game, so a match never waits for the last person to show up.

EASY TO PLAY, HARD TO MASTER

Moving takes a minute to learn. Reading a charged shot, timing a slam into a moving puck, catching a black ball on purpose, and knowing when to cash a kill streak — those take a while. A six-step tutorial covers the basics in about two minutes, and it runs the first time you launch the game.
