Take the seat in 196 AD

Rule Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Lu Bu, Sun Ce, another established ruler, or create a landed house of your own in a China already divided by rival banners. Read the realm, choose a response, and entrust it to a named officer who carries that order into the world.

Give the order to a name

Your council begins with visible facts: a threatened settlement, an enemy movement, an opening at the wall. Officers propose a course, you choose the standing order, and one named person takes responsibility. Assign them to a banner or to work in a settlement, then watch that activity unfold on the campaign map.

Lead the host

When armies meet, command the field in real time. Select formations, set their facing, use terrain, hold, advance, or commit the charge. Carry that command across fortified ground: break gates, raise ladders, contest landings, and fight across the ramparts while officers and separate allied banners remain present on the field.

Bring the battle home

The result returns to the same campaign. Survivors rejoin their banners; wounds, captures, loot, damaged gates, and changed ownership persist. A lost field battle can force a costly recovery, while the loss of a final holding ends a house. The map, not a detached score screen, carries the next problem forward.
