“I’ll become your ideal girlfriend. So… please, give me just one more chance.”

The girl who appeared before Hiroto Takenouchi was his ex-girlfriend, Chise Kawamoto—whom he had broken up with just yesterday.

But the “Chise” standing before him was no longer the girl he knew.

Calling herself “Eiko,” she claimed to be a Shapeshifter—an inhuman creature that devours other living beings and assimilates their forms, allowing it to blend seamlessly into human society.

According to Eiko, the real Chise was still alive.

She had been absorbed into Eiko’s body, but rather than being digested, she was being kept alive within her.

Then Eiko made Hiroto an absurd proposition.

“Let me be your girlfriend. Just for a limited time.”

“If you agree, I’ll give Chise back to you.”

And so began a relationship that was never meant to exist.

At first, Hiroto believed it was nothing more than a fake romance, a price he had to pay to get Chise back.

But once they began spending time together, he discovered something unexpected—

Eiko understood him even better than the real Chise ever had.

She remembered his habits, understood his feelings, and stayed by his side whenever he was exhausted.

Through his days with her, Hiroto slowly began to rediscover feelings he had long forgotten—

The thrill of falling for someone.

The warmth of being needed.

And the courage to place his trust in another person once again.

Yet the more real their relationship became, the harder it was to ignore one undeniable truth.

She was not human.

She could imitate Chise’s appearance, her voice, even her emotions.

But what was her true “self”?

When their limited time together finally comes to an end, and the real Chise returns to him…

Hiroto will have to face two questions.

Who is the girl standing before him?

And who does he truly love?

A romance that began with a lie…

What kind of ending awaits them?
