Make Landfall in Me

In a midlands town that remembers every promise, one project manager finds three very different women—and three very different ways to stay.

Malachy Traynor is forty-five, good at his job, and new enough in Kilnabrone to be watched like a stranger. He’s running a high-stakes onshore build across cutaway bog to a new converter station, with winter coming and a community that has every reason to doubt what they’re being asked to live with. The conflict isn’t a battle between heroes and villains—it’s the pressure of competing truths: livelihoods, land rights, public rooms, and names on paper that don’t stop mattering when the workday ends.

In this adult romance visual novel, your choices steer Malachy toward one of three women who each hold a different part of the town’s autumn: Clodagh Meaney, the keeper of a handwritten register and the face of the objections; Zarina Halim, a brilliant commissioning engineer who’s spent years moving from job to job without ever truly arriving; or Sorcha Rafferty, the hotel owner who signed her name beside his and learned what the parish thinks a name is worth. There are no conspiracies—only intimate negotiations, uneasy loyalties, and the kind of desire that gets complicated when everyone will know by morning.

Meet the Cast

Sorcha Rafferty — Motif: The Function Room Piano

Sorcha runs the Ashcourt House Hotel: forty-one rooms, a bar the locals avoid, and a reputation the parish won’t forgive her for surviving. She co-signed the community fund for money and said so out loud, then turned the consequences into a performance—smooth, funny, and razor-edged when she needs it to be. With Malachy she starts with an agreement and a bit of theatre, but what keeps them together is what happens when the doors shut and she plays the piano badly for no one at all.

Zarina Halim — Motif: The Cold Hands

Zarina is a senior commissioning engineer from Malaysia with eleven stations behind her and a habit of treating feelings like a language she has to build carefully, word by word. She lives in a container cabin on site, cooks real dinners for one, and keeps her boundaries with immaculate politeness—until friendship slides into something warmer and neither of you notices when it happened. To Malachy, she’s the only route with no leverage, no trade, and no agenda—just two professionals who become each other’s place to rest.

Clodagh Meaney — Motif: The Bog Road Key

Clodagh is the secretary of the Kilnabrone Turbary Society and the one person who can open the gate, find your name in the book, and tell you exactly what you’re entitled to—without ever admitting what that role means to her. To Malachy, she’s both the public adversary he shouldn’t be alone with and the private temptation he can’t stop driving toward. Her romance is a risky, funny, fiercely honest kind of transgression—made sharper by the fact that she never quite lets herself say what she wants.

Key Features

• Three distinct romance routes, one grounded setting: Choose between Forbidden by Faction, The Outsider, or Marriage of Convenience—each with its own tone, stakes, and ending shape.

• A no-villain drama where every side has a case: Community resistance, workplace pressure, and personal history collide without turning anyone into a cartoon antagonist.

• Character-led intimacy with sharp comedic engines: Self-ruining jokes, private mimicry, teasing repetition, and one deadpan gatekeeper of the parish hall keep the mood human and alive.

• A story built on concrete details, not speeches: Keys, registers, signatures, and rooms people can be kept out of—tangible points of friction that make romance feel consequential.

• Single-choice structure with high emotional commitment: Your decision at the branching point locks in a route and follows it all the way through rupture, repair (or not), and finale.
